Much of Mr. Anegada’s work involves developing evidence to be presented in court, and he employs investigative methods that can bear the scrutiny of both military judges and panels. Mr. Anegada ensures accountability, action, and discretion when working with our clients. Privacy is assured at all times.
Mr. Anegada services include: interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, testifying, and various other investigative tools designed to further develop your case and innocence. While CID, NCIS, or OSI are busy building the Government’s case, Mr. Anegada is busy building your case. In fact, the military justice system is unique among American criminal jurisdictions because full-time investigators are not assigned to assist military defense counsel. State and federal public defender offices across this country have investigators to rely upon to help develop their theory of the case. According to a survey of federal public defender offices, on average, public defenders employ one full-time defense investigator for every three-defense counsel. A typical military defense counsel, however, is almost completely reliant on the Government to ensure that they have the information necessary to properly ensure that your constitutional rights are upheld because they do not have their own investigators to help build your case. Here at GCW you have the option of having your own investigator specifically dedicated to your case.
Moreover, the military law enforcement organizations, despite regulatory guidance mandating that they remain neutral, will not take any steps to help develop your theory of the case. Once an accusation is made, military law enforcement agencies will search and seize any items that you own that could lead to incriminating evidence and may overlook evidence necessary to exculpate you from any wrongdoing. It’s not uncommon for our clients to inform us that they told military law enforcement agents to interview several witnesses, and not a single one of those witness had been contacted by the time charges are referred. Mr. Anegada’s services level the playing field and he will ensure that your defense is adequately developed and that your constitutional rights are upheld.
